It’s known that the Bedlington terrier is alert and inquisitive
When it sees small animals it will become aggressive
It will capture your attention with its appearance like a lamb
But it will act like a clown to get noticed any time it can
Although they make great watchdogs, they are friendly to guests
But still they can pick out shady people from all of the rest
They’ll throw themselves in the center of family activities
They are happy and healthy and have moderate energy
If other dogs provoke a fight, they won’t back down or run
They’ll just fight ferociously until the damage is done
If they should meet other canines they can be quite vexed
They’re prone to start fights with adults of the same sex
Socialize them with kids and other dogs when they’re pups
And they’re less likely to be belligerent when they grow up
Never scream at Bedlingtons or even use physical force
Because they will become stubborn and feisty of course
They will be very destructive if they’re left unsupervised
So keep them in a crate when alone, words to the wise
Bedlingtons aren’t the type of dog to be kept outdoors
They will chase animals and run at great speeds for sure
Feeding them one cup of food twice a day works great
Because one daily large meal can make them overweight
It’s true a Bedlington’s coat does not need to be stripped
Bring it to a professional groomer to get a lamb clip
Clip its nails once or twice a month, give it dental hygiene
To prevent tartar or gum disease, just keep its teeth clean
These canines have liver malfunctions, or liver disease
Others have their kneecaps displaced, maybe from injuries
If you notice this dog squinting and rubbing his eyes too
Its extra pair of eye lashes must be surgically removed
Though they require moderate care, they are lots of fun too
If you like cuddly dogs, the Bedlington terrier may be for you
